Land Instruments Registration Regulations, no. 29 of 1924

1. These regulations nwy be cited as the u111d Instrum ents Registration Regu lations.

2. Copies or instruments tlel ivered !'or registration under the Law shall be pn.!parcd on parc hment or on stout paper or good and substantial quality, rectangular in shape, and the dimensions of suc h parchment or paper shall no t exceed 38 centimetres in length by 24 centimetres in w idth (being the size known as "post") and shall not be less than 33 centimetres in l ength by 21 centimetres in w idth (being the size known as "foolscap") and such copies shall be so writt en or printed thnt a margin two inches wide be left blank on the left-hand side;; o f the parchment or paper.

3. Section 14 of the Lmv, in so far as that section directs that an instrument shall not be registered unless it contains :: plan or the land affectetl, shall not apply to the following inslrumen ts- (a) Lease o f land, houses or buildings for a term not cxcec.:ding three years (without a right or renewal). (b) Instruments affecting land the boundaries o f which an.: defined inn plan atrnchcd to an instrument registered after the Jst June, 191 8, nncl referred to in the instrument present ed for rcgistr:1 tio11. (c) Mining rights, water rights or assignments or mining rights or o r w ai-.:r rights. (d) A ny instrument affecting land which the.: Governor by endorsement thereon may exempt from the provisions or the sa id section. (c) Leases of plo ts of lands forming part of a gc.:nernl layout recognized by the Chief Lands Officer, a plan of which showing the r!uts and lnyout has been deposited al the Ministry of u1nds. (l) Exclusive prospecting licences which the Chief I nspector o f f\ line~ by endorsement th ereon may exempt from the pro\'isions o t the said section. 4. A memorandum en tered in a book kept by a cush)m ary court for record ing therein the t<.:rrns and conditions on which a stranger is atlmved to occupy communa l land sh,dl be exempt from the provi sions of the Law.

5. Lim:ences issued under the Sta te Lands (Temporary Oc<.:upation) Reg ula tions slwl l be excepted from the provisions o r th is L1w.

6. A ll i nstruments recorded or riled in accord:rnce w ith the provisions of bye-laws made by ;1 local governnient council in exercise of the powers co11fl!1-red by the Lo<.:a l Governmen t Law shall he excepted from the provisions or this Law.
