  1. 1 — Section 1 of the Regional Councils Act, 1992, (hereinafter referred to

Section 1 of the Regional Councils Act, 1992, (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Act”) is amended by - (a) the substitution for the definition of “chairperson” of the following definition: “chairperson” means the [Governor] chairperson of a regional council referred to in section 18;”; (b) the insertion of the following definition after the definition of “chief regional officer”: “governor” means the Governor of the region concerned appointed under section 2 of the Special Advisors and Regional Governors Appointment Act, 1990 (Act No. 6 of 1990);”; Amendment of section 11 of Act No. 22 of 1992 as amended by section 9 of Act No. 30 of 2000 and section 5 of Act No. 12 of 2002

  2. 2 — Section 11 of the principal Act is amended by the insertion of the
