STATE OF SABAH I assent, TuN DATUK SERI PANGLIMA HAll SAKARAN BIN DANDAI, Yang di-Pertua Negeri. 18THJUNE, 1996. No.1 of 1996 An Enactment to amend the Forest Enactment 1968. ENACTED by the Legislature of the State of Sabah as follows: 1. (1) This Enactment may be cited as the Forest (Amend ment) Enactment 1996 and shall, with the exception of sections 2 and 3, come into operation on the date of its publication in the Gazette. Short title and commence ment. 4 No.1 of 1996 Forest (Amendment) Amendment of section 3(1). Enactment No.2 of 1968. Amendment of section 4(2). Amendment of section 15(1). Amendment of section 24(1 ). Amendment of section 42(1 ). (2) Sections 2 and 3 shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of March 1996. 2. Subsection (1) of section 3 of the Forest Enactment 1968, which in this Enactment is referred to as" the principal Enactment", is amended in paragraph (a) thereof by substituting for the words "a Deputy Director" in line 1 the words "two Deputy Directors". 3. Subsection (2) of section 4 of the principal Enactment is amended by substituting for the words "the Deputy Director" in line 2 the words "any Deputy Director". 4. Subsection (1) of section 15 of the principal Enactment is amended by inserting, immediately after the word "Minister" in the last line, the words "with the approval of the Cabinet". S. The proviso to subsection (1) of section 24 of the principal Enactment is amended by substituting for the word "Minister" in the last line the word "Cabinet". 6. Subsection (1) of section 42 of the principal Enactment is amended in subparagraph (i) of paragraph (e) by inserting, immedi ately after the word "sawmills" at the end thereof, the words "and other timber processing mills".
