(A) 104 2 AKTA MAKANAN 1983 PERATURAN-PERATURAN MAKANAN (PINDAAN) (NO. 2) 2019 PADA menjalankan kuasa yang diberikan oleh seksyen 34 Akta Makanan 1983 [Akta 281], Menteri membuat peraturan-peraturan yang berikut: Nama dan permulaan kuat kuasa 1. (1) Peraturan-peraturan ini bolehlah dinamakan Peraturan-Peraturan Makanan (Pindaan) (No. 2) 2019. (2) Peraturan-Peraturan ini mula berkuat kuasa pada 30 Januari 2021. Pindaan peraturan 18B 2. Peraturan-Peraturan Makanan 1985 [P.U. (A) 437/1985], yang disebut “Peraturan-Peraturan ibu” dalam Peraturan-Peraturan ini, dipinda dalam subperaturan 18B(2) dengan menggantikan perkataan “dan 348 hingga 358” dengan perkataan “, 348 hingga 358, 360D dan 360E”. Peraturan baharu 360D dan 360E 3. Peraturan-Peraturan ibu dipinda dengan memasukkan selepas peraturan 360C peraturan yang berikut: “Minuman elektrolit isotonik 360D. (1) Minuman elektrolit isotonik ialah minuman yang diformulasikan dan dinyatakan sebagai sesuai untuk penggantian segera bendalir, karbohidrat, elektrolit dan mineral. (2) Minuman elektrolit isotonik hendaklah memenuhi osmolariti 250 hingga 340 miliosmol/L. P.U. (A) 104 3 (3) Minuman elektrolit isotonik hendaklah mengandungi— (a) tidak kurang daripada 230 mg/L atau 10 mmol/L dan tidak lebih daripada 920 mg/L atau 40 mmol/L natrium; dan (b) tidak kurang daripada 30 g/L dan tidak lebih daripada 100 g/L keseluruhan glukosa, fruktosa, sukrosa, dekstrosa atau maltodekstrin tetapi fruktosa tidak lebih daripada 50 g/L . (4) Minuman elektrolit isotonik boleh mengandungi karbon dioksida dan bahan perisa yang dibenarkan. (5) Maka hendaklah ditulis pada label bungkusan minuman elektrolit isotonik— (a) osmolariti minuman elektrolit isotonik yang diukur dalam miliosmol/L; dan (b) amaun natrium dalam mg bagi setiap 100 ml atau bagi setiap bungkusan jika bungkusan itu hanya mengandungi satu bahagian dan satu hidangan yang dinyatakan kuantitinya pada label dalam panel maklumat pemakanan. P.U. (A) 104 4 (6) Maka hendaklah ditulis pada panel pamer utama pada label suatu bungkusan minuman elektrolit isotonik— (a) perkataan "MINUMAN ELEKTROLIT ISOTONIK" atau perkataan "MINUMAN ELEKTROLIT ISOTONIK BERKARBONAT" jika minuman elektrolit isotonik itu berkarbonat dan saiz huruf bagi perkataan itu hendaklah tidak kurang daripada huruf bersaiz 12 poin; dan (b) perkataan "bagi menggantikan kehilangan elektrolit disebabkan berpeluh selepas aktiviti fizikal aktif" dan saiz huruf bagi perkataan itu hendaklah tidak kurang daripada huruf bersaiz 10 poin. Bes minuman elektrolit isotonik 360E. (1) Bes minuman elektrolit isotonik ialah suatu sediaan dalam bentuk pepejal atau cecair apabila dicairkan dan dibuat mengikut arahan yang dinyatakan pada label akan menghasilkan minuman elektrolit isotonik yang mematuhi standard minuman elektrolit isotonik yang ditetapkan dalam subperaturan 360D(1), (2), (3) dan (4). (2) Maka hendaklah ditulis pada label bungkusan bes minuman elektrolit isotonik— (a) pernyataan yang memberikan arahan bagi penyediaan minuman elektrolit isotonik; P.U. (A) 104 5 (b) osmolariti minuman produk yang sedia diminum yang diukur dalam miliosmol/L; dan (c) amaun natrium dalam produk yang sedia diminum dalam mg bagi setiap 100 ml atau bagi setiap bungkusan jika bungkusan itu hanya mengandungi satu bahagian dan satu hidangan yang dinyatakan kuantitinya pada label dalam panel maklumat pemakanan. (3) Maka hendaklah ditulis pada panel pamer utama pada label sesuatu bungkusan bes minuman elektrolit isotonik— (a) perkataan "BES MINUMAN ELEKTROLIT ISOTONIK" atau perkataan "BES MINUMAN ELEKTROLIT ISOTONIK BERKARBONAT" jika bes minuman elektrolit isotonik itu berkarbonat dan saiz huruf perkataan itu hendaklah tidak kurang daripada huruf bersaiz 12 poin; dan (b) perkataan "bagi menggantikan kehilangan elektrolit disebabkan berpeluh selepas aktiviti fizikal aktif" dan saiz huruf perkataan itu hendaklah tidak kurang daripada huruf bersaiz 10 poin.”. (A) 104 7 FOOD ACT 1983 FOOD (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS 2019 IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 34 of the Food Act 1983 [Act 281], the Minister makes the following regulations: Citation and commencement 1. (1) These regulations may be cited as the Food (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2019. (2) These Regulations come into operation on 30 January 2021. Amendment of regulation 18B 2. The Food Regulations 1985 [P.U. (A) 437/1985], which are referred to as the “principal Regulations” in these Regulations, are amended in subregulation 18B(2) by substituting for the words “and 348 to 358” the words “, 348 to 358, 360D and 360E”. New regulations 360D and 360E 3. The principal Regulations are amended by inserting after regulation 360C the following regulations: “Isotonic electrolyte drink 360D. (1) Isotonic electrolyte drink is a beverage that is formulated and expressed as suitable for the rapid replacement of fluid, carbohydrates, electrolytes and minerals. (2) Isotonic electrolyte drink shall meet an osmolarity of 250 to 340 miliosmol/L. P.U. (A) 104 8 (3) Isotonic electrolyte drink shall contains— (a) not less than 230 mg/L or 10 mmol/L and not more than 920 mg/L or 40 mmol/L of sodium; and (b) not less than 30 g/L and not more than 100 g/L in total of the glucose, fructose, sucrose, dextrose or maltodextrin but the fructose not more than 50 g/L. (4) Isotonic electrolyte drink may contains carbon dioxide and permitted flavouring substance. (5) There shall be written on the label of a package of isotonic electrolyte drink— (a) the osmolarity of the isotonic electrolyte drink as measured in milliosmol/L; and (b) the amount of sodium in mg per 100 ml or per package if the package contains only a single portion and per serving as quantified on the label in the nutrition information panel. (6) There shall be written in the principal display panel in the label of a package of isotonic electrolyte drink— P.U. (A) 104 9 (a) the words “ISOTONIC ELECTROLYTE DRINK” or the words “CARBONATED ISOTONIC ELECTROLYTE DRINK” if the isotonic electrolyte drink is carbonated and the size of the lettering shall not be less than 12 point lettering; and (b) the words “to replace electrolyte lost resulting from sweating after active physical activity” and the size of the lettering shall not be less than 10 point lettering. Isotonic electrolyte drink base 360E. (1) Isotonic electrolyte drink base is a preparation in solid or liquid form when diluted and made in accordance with the directions stated on the label will produce an isotonic electrolyte drink that shall comply with the standard for isotonic electrolyte drink prescribed in subregulations 360D(1), (2), (3) and (4). (2) There shall be written on the label of a package of an isotonic electrolyte drink base— (a) the statement giving directions for the preparation of an isotonic electrolyte drink; (b) the osmolarity of the product as ready for consumption as measured in milliosmol/L; and P.U. (A) 104 10 (c) the amount of sodium of the product as ready for consumption expressed in mg per 100 ml or per package if the package contains only a single portion and per serving as quantified on the label in the nutrition information panel. (3) There shall be written in the principal display panel on the label of a package of isotonic electrolyte drink base— (a) the words “ISOTONIC ELECTROLYTE DRINK BASE” or the words “CARBONATED ISOTONIC ELECTROLYTE DRINK BASE” if the isotonic electrolyte drink base is carbonated and the size of the lettering shall not be less than 12 point lettering; and (b) the words “to replace electrolyte lost resulting from sweating after active physical activity” and the size of lettering shall not be less than 10 point lettering.”.
