CONTROL OF PADI AND RICE (RESTRICTION OF INTERSTATE MOVEMENT) 1997 PU(A) 31/1997 Tambahan No. 5 Perundangan (A) Kepada Warta No. 3 - 30hb Januari 1997 IN exercise of the powers conferred by section 29 of the Control of Padi and Rice Act 1994 (Act 522), the Minister makes the following regulations. 1. Citation and commencement. These regulations may be cited as the Control of Padi and Rice (Restriction of Interstate Movement) 1997 and shall come into force on 1 February 1997. 2. Prohibition of movement of padi and rice. Subject to regulation 4, no person shall remove or attempt to remove any padi or rice from one state to another state in West Malaysia except with the prior written permission of the Director General or any authorised officer. 3. Director General may specify by-product. For the purpose of regulation 2, the Director General or any authorised officer may specify the by-product of padi or rice authorised to be removed. 4. Movement of padi or rice not in excess of 10 kilograms. Regulation 2 shall not apply to the movement of padi or rice not in excess of 10 kilograms per person carried as bona fide baggage and not for sale. 5. Revocation. The Lembaga Padi dan Beras Negara (Restriction of Interstate Movement) Regulations 1973 and the Lembaga Padi dan Betas Negara (Restriction of Movement of Rice) (Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam) Regulations, 1973 are revoked.
