B 898 L.N. 139 of 2020 ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT (CAP. 549) Framework for Allowing a Derogation Opening a Spring Hunting Season for Turtle Dove and Quail (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55 of the Environment Protection Act, the Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Planning, in conjunction with the Minister for Gozo and after consultation with the Environment and Resources Authority, has made the following regulations: Citation. S.L. 549.57. 1. The title of these regulations is Framework for Allowing a Derogation Opening a Spring Hunting Season for Turtle Dove and Quail (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 and they shall be read and construed as one with the Framework for Allowing a Derogation Opening a Spring Hunting Season for Turtle Dove and Quail Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations". Interpretation. 2. Terms and expressions used in these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, shall have the same meaning as given in the principal regulations. Amends regulation 3 of the principal regulations. 3. In the second proviso to regulation 3 of the principal regulations, immediately after the words "when establishing the duration of any Spring Hunting Season, the Minister shall also take into consideration the size of the bag limit to be allowed for that particular spring hunting derogation", there shall be added the words: ", and may also decide on whether he shall establish the daily bag limit for each licence and the seasonal bag limit for each licence to be allowed for that particular Spring hunting season". Amends regulation 5 of the principal regulations. 4. In paragraph (b) of regulation 5 of the principal regulations, immediately after the words "set the daily bag limit of birds and the total spring hunting season bag limit per licence" there shall be added the words: ", provided only if such bag limits have been established by the Minister in accordance with regulation 3".
