B 3188 L.N. 448 of 2020 ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT (CAP. 549) Environmental Impact Assessment (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by articles 54 and 55(2) of the Environment Protection Act, the Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Planning, after consultation with the Environment and Resources Authority, has made the following regulations: Title. S.L. 549. 46. 1. The title of these regulations is the Environmental Impact Assessment (Amendment) Regulations, 2020 and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations". Amends regulation 20 of the principal regulations. 2. In sub-regulation (1) of regulation 20 of the principal regulations, the words "relevant information and clarifications" shall be substituted by the words "relevant information and clarifications:" and immediately thereafter there shall be added the following new proviso: "Provided that in the case of a pandemic, epidemic, natural disaster, armed conflict, declaration of a national emergency or public danger, or any other event of force majeure, such public hearing may alternatively be held by means of electronic or other viable means of communication as the Authority deems appropriate, and any such hearing held by using such means shall have the same effect at law as a hearing held physically;".
