Conservation of Wild Birds (Declaration of the periods for Hunting and Taking) Regulations, 2007 (L.N. 250 of 2007)

B 3211 L.N. 250 of 2007 ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION ACT (CAP. 435) Conservation of Wild Birds (Declaration of the periods for Hunting and Taking) Regulations, 2007 BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by article 9 of the Environment Protection Act, and in terms of the provisions of regulation 10(6)(t) of the Conservation of Wild Birds’ Regulations, 2006, the Minister for Rural Affairs and the Environment has made the following regulations >– 1. The title of these regulations is the Conservation of Wild Birds (Declaration of the periods for Hunting and Taking) Regulations, 2007. 2. Terms and expressions used in these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, shall have the same meaning as given to them in the Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations, 2006, hereinafter referred to as the “2006 Regulations”. 3. For the purposes of establishing the period for the hunting and capturing of Turtle Dove and Quail under regulation 10(6)(t)(i), (ii) and (iii) of the 2006 Regulations, the Minister has established the following dates>– (a) the hunting of birds on land shall be permitted between the 1st September 2007 and the 31st January 2008, betwen two hours before sunrise and two hours after sunset on any day between Monday and Saturday, and between two hours before sunrise and 1 o’ clock in the afternoon (1.00 p.m) on Sundays and Public Holidays> Provided that hunting on land between the 15th September 2007 and the 30th September 2007 shall not be permitted from Monday to Saturday after 3.00 pm< (b) the hunting of birds at sea shall be permitted between the 1st October 2007 and the 31st January 2008< (c) taking of finches shall be allowed between the 1st October 2007 and the 31st January 2008< Citation. The applicable times for the taking and shooting of wild rabbits between the 15th September 2007 and the 30th September 2007 shall be as established in the proviso to paragraph (a) of regulation 3 of these regulations.
