Second Schedule amended ........................................................................ 2 Montserrat Public Health (Slaughter of Animals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016 S.R.O. 31 of 2016 2 MONTSERRAT STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS S.R.O. 31 OF 2016 PUBLIC HEALTH (SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS THE PUBLIC HEALTH (SLAUGHTER OF ANIMALS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2016 MADE BY THE GOVERNOR ACTING ON THE ADVICE OF CABINET UNDER SECTION 8(1) OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH (CAP. 14.01). 1. Citation and commencement (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Public Health (Slaughter of Animals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016. (2) These Regulations come into effect 1 July 2016. 2. Interpretation In these Regulations, “the principal Regulations” means the Public Health (Slaughter of Animals) Regulations (Cap. 14.01). 3. Regulation 7(3) deleted Regulation 7(3) of the principal Regulations is deleted. 4. Regulation 8 amended Regulation 8 the principal Regulations is amended by deleting “seven” and substituting “several”. 5. Second Schedule amended The principal Regulations are amended by deleting the Second Schedule and substituting the following— Montserrat Public Health (Slaughter of Animals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016 S.R.O. 31 of 2016 3 “SECOND SCHEDULE (Regulation 8) FEES FOR ABATTOIR SERVICES 1. (a) The fee payable to slaughter, eviscerate, skin and clean an animal is as follows— Animal Fee Cattle $150 Pig $60 Sheep $25 Goat $25 (b) The fee payable to clean a cattle hide is $100. 2. (a) A carcass may hang in a cooler room for a maximum of twenty-four hours free of charge. (b) The fee payable to hang a carcass in a cooler room for each twelve hour period after the expiration of the initial twenty four hours is as follows— Animal Fee (per pound) Whole Side Quarter Rental Joints or Cuts Cattle $10 $6 $4 $1 Montserrat Public Health (Slaughter of Animals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016 S.R.O. 31 of 2016 4 Pig $10 $6 $4 $1 Sheep $10 $6 $4 $1 Goat $10 $6 $4 $1 3. The fee payable to store a carcass in a freezer for each twelve hour period is $1 per pound. 4. The fee payable to cut a carcass is as follows— Type of Cut Fee (per pound) Regular $0.40 Specialized $2.50 Grinding $1 ”.
