NITI.JELA OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS 36TH CONSTITUTIONAL REGULAR SESSION, 2015 BILL NO.: 74ND1 p. \.... 2.0l ~ - 4.3 1 2 AN ACT 3 4 To amend Title 24, Chapter 4 of the MIRC, the Land Registration Authority Act, in order to 5 prohibit subleasing of land in the Marshall Islands, except where it is agreed to by the 6 landowners in the original master lease, or consent to by the landowners in writing. 7 8 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE NITIJELA OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS: 10 Section 1. Short title. 11 This Act may be cited as the Land Registration Authority (Amendment) Act, 2015. 12 Section 2. Amendment. 13 (1) Section 438 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting a new section, to read as 14 follows: 15 16 "Section 438A. No Subleases 17 No lease shall be subject to sublease unless specifically agreed to by the landowners in 18 the original master lease, or consent to by the landowners in writing." 19 20 Section 3. Existing Subleases 21 This Act shall not affect the validity of land subleases currently in effect as of the effective date 22 of this Act. 23 24 Section 4. Eff(~ctive Date.
