These regulations may be cited as the Food (RenedWheat Flour Fortication) Regulations 2022 and shall come into operation on january 01, 2024. 2. For the purpose o these regulations, wheat four shall be the cleaned sound product obtained by grinding and bolting cleaned cereal Triticum aestitivum L. or Triticum compactumHost and includes whole wheat four and rened wheat four and rened wheat four shall be the wheat four extracted rom whole wheat. A person manuacturing rened wheat four or retail sale or domestic consumption or or manuacturing o bread shall ortiy such rened wheat four with Folic acid and Iron and shall ensure that such ortied rened wheat four contains ; (a) Folic acid between the range of 2 to 3 mg/kg (b) ron as Sodium iron ethylenediaminetetraacetate (NaFe) or Ferrous fumarate or Ferrous sulphate as specied in the Schedule hereto. 4. A person manuacturing rened wheat four or retail sale or domestic consumption or or manuacturing bread shall ensure that such rened wheat four has an extraction rate not less than eighty per centum (80%). 5. A person engaging in any business operation manuacturing rened wheat four or the purpose o supplying to any other business other than bread manuacturing shall ensure that such rened wheat four has an extraction rate not less than seventy our per centum (74%).
