Decision No. 88 on the establishment of a working group to export rice

KINGDOM OF CAMBODIA Nation Religion King Royal Government of Cambodia CABINET OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS Decision No. 88 on the ESTABLISHMENT of a working group to export rice Phnom Penh, December 23, 1993 • Seen the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia; • Seen the Royal Decree of His majesty the King of Cambodia Samdech Preach Norodom Sihanouk Varman dated November 01, 1993 on the Appointment of the Royal Government; • Seen the Royal Decree No.93 dated October 24,1994 on the Reorganisation of the Composition of the Royal Government of Cambodia; • Seen the law on the Organisation and Functioning of the Council of Ministers promulgated by the Royal Decree No.02/94 dated July 20, 1994; • Pursuant to a decision of the plenary meeting of the Council of Ministers on December 06, 1995. It is Hereby Decided Article 1: To establish a working group to undertake rice export whose composition is as follows: 1. the Minister of Commerce Chairman 2. a Representative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Member 3. a Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Member Article 2: The working group shall have the following responsibilities: • To study, monitor and record the demand in rice consumption and rice seed in the Kingdom of Cambodia. • Plan on a budget requirement to purchase rice, classify them according to their varieties and quality for export and submit it for approval by the government. • Conduct marketing research to export rice at a relative high price and find ways to import rice for local demand, especially during rice shortage period. • Creatively improve wrapping methods for exported rice compatible to international norms to enhance competitive in the world market. • Report progress to the government. Article 3: The working group shall have the right to use the seal of the Ministry of Commerce to help in their work. The operating cost of this working group shall be allocated from the national budget. Article 4: The Co-Ministers of the Office of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of Commerce, the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, all relevant ministers, ministries and institution authorities and all the personalities named above shall implement this Decision from the date of its signatures.
