Water CAP. 372 189 THE WATER (CATCHMENT 80ARD) RULF.S 1. These Rules may be cited as the Water (Catchment Board) Rules. 2. For the several catchment areas into whidl the Water Resources Authority has divided Kenya, there shall be established the Catchment Boards specified in the first column of the Schedule to these Rules. consisting of the members specified in the second column thereto. appointed as therein provided. 3. Every appointment. resignation, retirement or R:mOVal of any member of a Catchment Board shall be notified in the Gazette. 4. The members of each Catchment Board shall elect a chair man from among their number, who shall hold offia: for a period of three years or until such earlier time as be ceases to be 11 member. 5. The chairman shall preside over all meetings of his Catchment Board. or in his absence the members of the Cau:hmeDl Board present at the meeting may elect one of the members to act as chairman and to preside over such meeting. 6. Each year such number of the membe~ of each Catchment Board shall retire so that no member sha11 hold office for more than three years at a time without being re-elected: Provided that a member who is retired under this rule shall be eligible for re-election, 7. Any member of a Catchment Board may re:si&D from such office by writing under his hand addressed to the cbairman of bis Catchment Board, wbo shall upon receipt of such resignation so inform the person or authority responsible for appoimirag II successor to such member. 8. A copy of the minutes of each meeting of a Catchme:nt Board shall be sent, as soon as practicable after suoh meeting, to dle Water Apportionment Board, 10. (J) Subject to the Act and these Rules, every Catchment Board shall make standing orders for the regulation and cendll'ct of its business, including the formation of a quorum, the qJ:1ing of meetings and the retirement of members in rotation. (2) Such standing orders shall be subject to the apflronJ of the Minister. II.
