NAIROBI THE UASIN GISHU COUNTY ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2017 No.2 of 2017 Date of Assent: 9th February, 2017 Date of Commencement: By Notice AN ACT of the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu to amend the Uasin Gishu County Enterprise Development Fund Act, 2016 ENACTED by the County Assembly of Uasin Gishu, as follows- This Act may be cited as the Uasin Gishu County Short title Enterprise Development Fund (Amendment) Act, 2017 and shall come into operation upon publication in the County or the Kenya Gazette. The purpose of the Act is to amend the Uasin Gishu County Enterprise Development Fund Act, 2016 hereinafter referred to as "The Principal Act". The Principal Act is amended- In Section 2 (1) by- deleting "Committee" means the Co-operative Enterprise Development Fund Committee established under Section 5 of the Act. replacing "Committee" means the Co-operative Enterprise Development Fund Committee established under Section 7 of the Act. In Section 7 (b) of the Act thus- deleting the phrase "the County Chief Officer in the County department for the time being responsible for co-operative development or a representative appointed in writing" replacing with "the County Chief Officer in the County department for the time being responsible for treasury or a representative appointed in writing". In Section 7 (e) as follows- deleting the phrase "the Director appointed under Section 14 who shall be the secretary to the Committee". 2 2017 Uasin Gishu County Enterprise Development Fund (Amendment) No. 2 Replacing with 'the Director appointed under Section 13 who shall be the secretary to the Committee". (d) In Section 13 (2) by- deleting the phrase "the committee shall appoint the Director and staff of the unit through a competitive recruitment process and appointed on such terms and conditions as shall be determined by the County Public Service Board. replacing with "the County Public Service Board shall appoint the Director and staff of the unit through a competitive recruitment process and appointed on such terms and conditions as shall be determined by the County Public Service Board".
