Pyrethrum (Elections) (Amendment) Rules, 2009 (L.N. No. 65 of 2009)

LEGAL NOTICE No. 65 THE PYRETHRUM ACT (Cap. 340) IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 36 (1) of the Pyrethrum Act, the Minister for Agriculture, after consultation with the Board, makes the following Rules: THE PYRETHRUM (ELECTIONS) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 2009. 1. These Rules may be cited as the Pyrethrum (Elections) (Amendment) Rules, 2009. 2. The Pyrethrum (Elections) Rules, 2003, in these Rules referred to as the “principal Rules” are amended by deleting the expression “section 4(1)(b) and section 36(2)” appearing in the enacting appearing in the enacting provision and substituting therefore the expression 36 (1)”. 3. Rule 2 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the word “licensed” and substituting therefor the word “election” and substituting therefore the word “registered”. 4. Rule (2) of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the word “licensed” and substituting therefor the word “registered”. 5. Rule 6 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the word “licensed and substituting therefor the word ‘registered”. 6. Rule 7 of the principal Rules is amended — (a) in paragraph (1), by deleting the word “licensed’ and substituting therefor the word ‘registered”: (b) in paragraph (2) (a), by deleting the word “licensed” and substituting therefor the word “registered”. 7. Rule 8 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the word “licensed” and substituting therefor the word “registered”. 8. Rule 10 of the principal Rules is amended — (a) in paragraph (1), (i) by deleting the words “licensed” and substituting therefor the word “registered”: (ii) by deleting the words “and registered” appearing immediately before the word “grower”; (b) in paragraph (2), by deleting the word ‘licensed” and substituting therefor the word “registered”; (c) in paragraph (3), by deleting the figure “300” and substituting therefor with the figure “100”: (d) in paragraph (4), by deleting subparagraph (c) and substituting therefor the following new sub paragraph — “(c) not receiving any salary from any pyrethrum grower’s co-operative society”. 9.
