WATER RESOURCES (REGISTRATION) (JERSEY) ORDER 2008 Revised Edition 27.960.70 Showing the law as at 1 January 2009 This is a revised edition of the law Water Resources (Registration) (Jersey) Order 2008 Article 1 Revised Edition – 1 January 2009 Page - 3 27.960.70 WATER RESOURCES (REGISTRATION) (JERSEY) ORDER 2008 THE MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT, in pursuance of Article 12(7) of the Water Resources (Jersey) Law 20071, orders as follows – Commencement [see endnotes] 1 Registration of the abstracting or impounding of water (1) Registration for the purposes of any of sub-paragraphs (b), (c) and (d) of paragraph (1) of Article 12 of the Water Resources (Jersey) Law 2007 may be effected by a person providing the following information to the regulator – (a) the name and contact details of the applicant; (b) the water source, type and location; (c) details of the well or borehole construction; (d) details of any abstraction pump; (e) the use or uses to which the abstracted water will be put; (f) where the abstracted water supply is to be used for domestic purposes, the addresses of the households and number of people who will be provided with water; (g) where the abstracted water is to be used for a purpose other than for a domestic purpose of a household, the quantity of such water that will be used for that other purpose. (2) The information supplied must be sufficiently detailed to allow the regulator to identify the exact location of the abstraction or impounding. (3) The information must be provided – (a) if the water was being abstracted or impounded on 1st January 2009, on or before 30th April 2009; and (b) in any other case, before the water is abstracted or impounded.
