Endangered Species (CITES) (Designation and Appointment) (Jersey) Order 2012 Article 1 Price code: A Page - 1 R&O.98/2012 ENDANGERED SPECIES (CITES) (DESIGNATION AND APPOINTMENT) (JERSEY) ORDER 2012 Made 20th August 2012 Coming into force 21st August 2012 THE MINISTER FOR PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENT, in pursuance of Articles 9 and 11 of the Endangered Species (CITES) (Jersey) Law 20121, orders as follows – 1 Interpretation In this Order, “Law” means the Endangered Species (CITES) (Jersey) Law 20122. 2 Designation of Scientific Authority Pursuant to Article 9(1) of the Law, the Minister for Planning and Environment is designated as the Scientific Authority. 3 Appointment of officers Pursuant to Article 11(1) of the Law, the following persons are appointed to be officers for the purposes of the Law – (a) an inspector within the meaning of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 19563; and (b) a person holding the office of Director of Environmental Policy in a department of the States for which the Minister for Planning and Environment is responsible. Article 4 Endangered Species (CITES) (Designation and Appointment) (Jersey) Order 2012 Page - 2 R&O.98/2012 4 Citation and commencement This Order may be cited as the Endangered Species (CITES) (Designation and Appointment) (Jersey) Order 2012 and shall come into force on the day after it is made.
