ASSAM ACT NO. IX OF 2023 (Received the assent of the Governor on 7th February, 2023) THE ASSAM FARMERS (GROUP IRRIGATION) (REPEALING) ACT, 2022 2044 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, FEBRUARY 14, 2023 ACT to repeal the Assam Farmers (Group Inigation) Act, 1978. Preamble Whereas it is expedient to repeal the Assam Farmers (Group Irrigation) Act, 1978; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-third Year of the Republic of India as follows: Short title, 1. (1) The Act may be called the Assam Farmers (Group extent and lrrigation) (Repealing) Act, 2022. commencement (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) Itshall come into force at once. Repeal and 2. (1) The Assam Farmers (Group Irrigation) Act, 1978 is savings hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal of the Act under sub section(1) above, anything already done or action taken or any right, title, obligation, or liability already acquired, accrued, or incurred or any remedy or proceeding in respect of any such right, title, obligation, or liability or penalty, claim or demand etc. already enforced under the Act, So repealed before the date of commencement of this Act. shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the repealed Act, a GEETANJALI DAS SAIKIA, Secretary to the Government of Assam, Assam Act No. X of 1978 Assam Act No. X of ‘1978 Legislative Department, Dispur, Guwahati-6. g Gawahati: Printed and Published by the Director, Directorate of Printing & Stationery, Assam, Guwahati-21.
