No. 174 of 2014 EUROPEAN UNION (PROTECTION OF ANIMALS USED FOR SCIENTIFIC PURPOSES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2014 I, JAMES REILLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Implementing Decision 2014/11/EU of 20 December 20131, hereby make the following regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes) (Amendment) Regulations 2014. (2) These Regulations, the Regulations of 2013 and the Principal Regulations may be cited together as the European Union (Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes) Regulations 2012 to 2014. 2. In these Regulations— “Principal Regulations” means the European Union (Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes) Regulations 2012 (S.I. No. 543 of 2012); “Regulations of 2013” means the European Union (Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes) (Amendment) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 434 of 2013). 3. Regulation 68(2) of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting “, as amended by Commission Implementing Decision 2014/11/EU of 20 December 20131” after “14 November 2012”. These Regulations give effect to Commission Implementing Decision 2014/11/EU of 20 December 2013 correcting Annex II to Implementing Decision 2012/707/EU establishing a common format for the submission of the infor mation pursuant to Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes. These Regulations amend the European Union (Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes) Regulations 2012. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Protection of Animals used for Scientific Purposes) (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
