No. 344 of 2014 EUROPEAN UNION (BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2014 I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communi ties Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 492/2014 of 7 March 20141 and Regulation (EU) No 334/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 20142, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Biocidal Products) (Amendment) Regulations 2014. 2. The European Union (Biocidal Products) Regulations 2013 (S.I. No. 427 of 2013) are amended— (a) by substituting in Regulation 2(1) for the definition of “Biocidal Prod ucts Regulation” the following— “ ‘Biocidal Products Regulation’ means Regulation (EC) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 20123 as amended by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 354/2013 of 18 April 20134, Com mission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 414/2013 of 6 May 20135, Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 736/2013 of 17 May 20136, Commission Implementing Regu lation (EU) No 564/2013 of 18 June 20137, Commission Del egated Regulation (EU) No 837/2013 of 25 June 20138 and Regulation (EU) No 334/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2014 and supplemented by Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 492/2014 of 7 March 2014;”, and (b) by substituting for Regulation 4 (2) the following— “(2) A person seeking an authorisation to place on the market, make available or use a biocidal product under Chapter IV, V, VI or VII shall apply in a format determined in accordance with Article 79 1O.J. No. L139 of 14.05.2014, p.1 2O.J. No. L103 of 05.04.2014, p.22 3O.J. No. L167 of 27.06.2012, p.1 4O.J. No. L109 of 19.04.2013, p.4 5O.J. No. L125 of 07.05.2013, p.4 6O.J.
