No. 202 of 2020 EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (VEGETABLE SEEDS) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 3) REGULATIONS 2020 I, Michael Creed, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2020/177 of 11 February 20201, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Vegetable Seeds) (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2020. 2. The European Communities (Vegetable Seeds) Regulations 2001 (S.I. No. 306 of 2001) are amended by substituting in Regulation 2(1) for the definition of “Directive” (as amended by the European Communities (Vegetable Seeds) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020 (S.I. MICHAEL CREED, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine. 4 [202] EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation) These Regulations give effect to the provisions of Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2020/177 by amending the Annexes I and II to Directive 2002/55/EC as they relate to inspections for Union regulated non-quarantine pests (RNQPs) and measures intended to prevent their presence on vegetable seeds for planting.
