No. 126 of 2006 European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Feathers from Certain Third Countries) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 I, Mary Coughlan, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2006/183/EC1 of 28 February 2006, hereby make the following regulations 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Feathers from Certain Third Countries) (Amendment) Regulations 2006. 2. The European Communities (Avian Influenza) (Control on Imports of Feathers from Certain Third Countries) Regulations 2006 (S.I No. 11 of 2006) are amended by – (a) the substitution, for the definition of “Certain Third Countries” in regulation 2(1), of " 'certain third country' means a country that is listed in the Annex to the Commission Decision';", (b) the substitution, for the definition of “Commission Decision” in regulation 2(1), of " 'Commission Decision' means Commission Decision 2006/7/EC2 as amended by Commission Decision 2006/183/EC';", GIVEN under my Official Seal, 9 March 2006 Mary Coughlan Minister for Agriculture and Food 1 OJ No L65, 7.3.2006, p49 2 OJ No L5, 10.1.2006, p17 L.S. 0 3 EXPLANATORY NOTE (This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.) This Order amends S.I No 11 of 2006 and gives effect to Commission Decision 2006/183/EC of 28 February 2006 which extends the list of third countries from which the import of unprocessed feathers is prohibited.
