AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE DECREE OF THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE NO. : 405/KPTSrrN.120/511995 ; DATED JUNE 1, 1995 RE THE LICENCE TO RELEASE PROCECIDOCHARES CONNEXA FOR THE BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF CHROMOLAENA ODORATA WEEDS IN ESTATE CROPS THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE, Considering L that on the basis of the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture No. 588/KptsffN.120/9/1993, the Director of the Oilpalm Research Centre of Medan has been licensed to bring Procecidochares Connexa insects from Argentina into the territory of the Republic of Indonesia; 2. that on the basis of results of research conducted by the Oilpalm Research Centre of Medan, the Procecidochares Connexa insects are least likely to cause damage to other plants; 3 that with the above considerations, it is deemed necessary to grant a licence to the Director of the Oilpalm Research Centre of Medan to release Procecidochares Connexa insects for field utilisation. The report on results of research on Procecidochares Connexa insects at the laboratory of the Oilpalm Research Centre at Marihat No. 3821PPKS/Dir1XU1994 and the report of the Agricultural Quarantine Centre of Medan No. 850/KPM.2201II/l995. The recommendation of Dr. S Wardoyo . a researcher at the Plantation Biotechnology Research Centre of Bogor dated April 24, 1995, and the recommendation of Prof. Dr. Ir. Soemartono Sosromarsono, entomologist at the Faculty of Agriculture, Institute of Agriculture of Bogor, dated April I, 1995. HAS DECIDED To grant a licence to the Director of the Oilpalm Research Centre of Medan tore lease Procecidochares Connexa insects to the location of control of Chromolaena Odorata weeds. After the release of insects as meant in the First dictum, the Director of the Oilpalm Research Centre of Medan shall conduct continuous observation of the possibility of any negative impact on the environment. The Director of the Oilpalm Research Centre of Medan shall submit a report on results of the release of insects as meant in the first dictum to the Minister of Agriculture through the Agricultural Research and Development Agency.
