Minister of Jgriculture's Decree N°1/Kpts/U~1/1975 on The Conservation of the Riches of the Fish Resources ot' Indonesia The Minister of Agriculture Considering: a. that the utilization of the riches of the fish re sources in a rational way and its conservation are essential factors in the development of fisheries; b. that in connection with the above consideration it is necessary to enact the provisions on the conservation of the riches of the fish resources; Bearing in mind: 1. the Law on coastal fishing (Staatsblad N°144, 1927); 2. the Law N°4 Prp,1960; 3. the Govetnment Decree N064 of 1957; 4. the Decree of the President Nog of 1973; 5. " " N°44 of 1974; 6. " " N°45 of 1974; Enacts: I Provision: In the matter of conservation pf the riches found in the fish resources, in connection with the level of intensity of the fishing activities, it is foreseen to introduce measures concernin~: 1. The areas/seasons in which fishing is out-of-bounds: a. certain sea areas shall be declared out-of-bounds for one, several or all kinds of fishing activities; b. seasonal prohibition in particular areas or in all the fishing areas for one, several or all kinds of fishing activities. II Provision: The control of fishing activities, includin~: a. the fi~ation of the types, size and number of allowed vessels; b. the fixation of the size of nets and of the types of gear to be used; c. the fixation of the share of fish catches. 2 Decree NOOf / 1/ 1975 III Provision: Thhs decree comes into force on the date of its publi cation. Enacted in Jakarta on the 2nd of January 0 f 1975 The Minister of Agriculture Prof.Dr.lr.Toyib Hadiwijaya
