DESIGNATION OF SPECIAL AREAS OF CONSERVATION (SOUTHERN WATERS OF GIBRALTAR) ORDER 2011 (LN. 2011/019) Commencement 10.3.2011 Amending enactments Relevant current provisions Commencement date EU Legislation/International Agreements involved: Directive 92/43/EEC In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 17C(1) of the Nature Protection Act 1991 and for the purposes of designating a special area of conservation pursuant to Article 4 of Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora, the Minister has made the following Order Title and commencement. 1. This Order may be cited as the Designation of Special Areas of Conservation (Southern Waters of Gibraltar) Order 2011 and comes into operation on the day of publication. Designation of Special Area of Conservation. 2. In accordance with section 17C(1) of the Nature Protection Act 1991, and for the purposes of Article 4 of Council Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora the following has been designated as a special area of conservation− (a) all that area which is shaded in blue in the plan set out in the Schedule to this Order and which shall be known as the “Southern Waters of Gibraltar SAC”.
