The Boats and Vessels (Registration Number Display Requirements) Order, 2010 , STATES OF GUERNSEY 2 2 MAR 2010 Made by the Public Sewices Department Corning into operation 1 Th March, 2010 lSApril, 2010 THE STATES OF GUERNSEY PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 18(3) of the Boats and Vessels (Registration, Speed Limits and Abatement of Noise) Ordinance, 1970 as amendeda and all other powers enabling it in that behaIf, hereby orders: Amendment of section 5 of the 1970 Ordinance. 1. In section 5 of the Boats and Vessels (Registration, Speed Limits and Abatement of Noise) Ordinance, 1970 as amended ("the 1970 Ordinance"), for the words from "painted or marked" to the end of paragraph (b), substitute "painted or marked on the boat as follows (a> in the case of such a boat as aforesaid which is not a personal watercraft: on the exterior of the hull at the transom or the extreme afier end of the boat, in accordance a RecueiI d'ordonnances Tome XVI, p. 346; Tome XIX, p. 220; Tome XXI, p. 16; Tome XXIV, p. 418; Tome XXW, p. 308; Tome XXX, p. 86; Ordinance No. IX of 2008; Ordinance No. XV of 2009; and the Boats and VesseIs (Registration Speed Limits and Abatement of Noise) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2010, approved by the States of Deliberation on 241h February 2010. with the requirements specified in the First Schedule, or, in the case of a speedboat, the Second Schedule, (b) in the case of such a boat as aforesaid which is a personal watercraft: on both left and right sides of the fore deck, in accordance with the requirements specified in the First Schedule, " . Amendment of the Schedules to the 1970 Ordinance. 2. (1) For the First Schedule to the 1970 Ordinance, substitute the foIlowing "FIRST SCHEDULE Section 5. Requirements as to numbers on all personal watercrafl, aand other boats except speedboats, registered under Part I of this Ordinance 1. The number shall be of a distinctive coIour compared with the colour of the hull (or, in the case of personal watercraft, the coIour of the surrounding background). 2. Each numeral shall be at least six inches high." (2) For the heading of the Second Schedule to the 1970 Ordinance, substitute the following "SECOND SCHEDULE Section 5. Requirements as to numbers on speedboats ((except personal watercrafr) registered under Part I of this Ordinance" Citation and Commencement. 3. This Order may be cited as the Boats and Vessels (Registration Number Display Requirements) Order, 2010, and shall come into force on 1" April 2010. For and B.M.
