67 No. 20 GOVERNMENT OF FIJI GAZETTE SUPPLEMENT FRIDAY, 26th MARCH 2021 EXTRAORDINARY [LEGAL NOTICE NO. 31] ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT ACT 2005 Environment Management (Exempt Plastic Bags) Regulations 2021 IN exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 45A of the Environment Management Act 2005, I hereby make these Regulations— Short title and commencement 1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Environment Management (Exempt Plastic Bags) Regulations 2021. (2) These Regulations come into force on the date of publication in the Gazette. Exempt plastic bags 2. Pursuant to section 45A(1)(a)(v) of the Environment Management Act 2005, the following bags are not included in the definition of plastic bags— (a) plastic bags used for medical purposes, including for the packaging or preserving of medicine and pharmaceutical products; (b) plastic bags used by the Fiji Police Force for the storage of evidence or human remains; (c) plastic bags used in agriculture, which includes planter bags and fertiliser or compost sacks and bags.
