Decree No. 701 of 1982 establishing a natural protected zone in El-Amid-Province of Marsa Matrouh

Translati'on MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE M£nisterial Deoree No. 701 dated 2/6/1982 Minister of State for Agriculture & "Food Security After having perused the law No. 144 of year 1960 re lating to fishing; the law No. 53 of year 1966 relating to the promulgation of the law of agriculture; the ministerial decree No. 349 of year 1979 relating to the establishment of the Wild Life Preservation Organiza tion; the ministerial decree No. 472 of year 1982 prohibiting the hunting of all kinds of birds and animals in the zones situated in the Sinai Governorate; the decree of the Governor of Marsa Matrouh No. 40 of year 1982 relating to the construction of a' natural rampart at El-Amid Zone; and the letter of the Director General of the Zoological Gardens General Department No. 1571 dated 8/5/1982; Has been decreed: Clause 1 1- A natural rampart is to be constructed at El-Amid Zone in Marsa Matrouh Governorate in the manner stated in the schedule of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) relating to the ramparts of lively framework. 2- Hunting all kinds of wild animals, as well as cutting trees, are prohibited in the zone situated between the railway at El-Amid northwards and the south of Tel El-Khashm at a distance of 5 kms, and to the extent of ten kilometres eastwards and westwards. 3- Pasturing and cutting different sorts of plants within an area of seven square kilometres, the base of which is the northern foot of Khasham El-Eish Hill, with a length of three kilometres northwards southwards, and a width of two kilometres eastwards westwards, are prohibited. Clause 2 1- A natural rampart is to be constructed in the zone of Elba Mountain, Red Sea Governorate, the boundaries of which are as follows: Hamata Mountain Zone - Wadi Om Mugamaa - Wadi Abrak Wadi EI-Neam - Wadi EI-Gamal - Wadi EI-Hodein - Wadi Deif - Wadi Sebeit - Hamra Dom Mountain - and the valleys leading to it and to EI-Thalassin, Wadi El-Daib, Wadi El-Kuraf, Wadi EI-Hafra, Wadi Rabit, Wadi Way El-Way, and the heights of the foot of Elba Mountain, and Wadi AI-Yoder. 2- Hunting all sorts of birds and animals is prohibited in the natural rampart of El-Elba Mountain, Red Sea Govern orate. Clause 3 1- The perpetrator of any infraction of the provisions of this decree shall be exposed to questioning, with no prejudice to the civil and criminal prosecution. 2- All the competent authorities must enforce the present de cree with the assistance of the competent technical com mittees. 3- The present decree is to be pUblished in the Egyptian Gazette and is enforceable as of the date of publication.
