Shellfish Regulation (B.C. Reg. 11/83)

1 For the purpose of this regulation: "culture" means the rearing, improvement, development and production of shellfish; "lease" means a lease granted under the Land Act for the culture of shellfish; "licence" means a licence of occupation issued under the Land Act; "licensed area" means an area with respect to which a licence has been granted for the purpose of the culture of shellfish; "shellfish" means oysters, clams, mussels and other bivalve molluscs, in all their stages of development, and includes parts of them. Registration

2 (1) A person who engages in the business of the culture of shellfish from a lease or licensed area shall register with the Ministry of Fisheries, giving the following information: (a) name and address of the grower; (b) species cultivated, grown or harvested; (c) location of lease or licensed area; (d) legal description and size of lease or licensed area. (2) A person shall re-register annually between January 1 and January 31. (3) A person who is registered shall, on or before January 31 in each year, file an annual return for the previous calendar year with the Ministry of Fisheries in the form of the "Shellfish Production Report" contained in the Schedule.
