No. 23] Environmental Impact Assessment BELIZE: STATUTORY INSTRUMENT No. 23 of 2023 REGULATIONS made by the Minister responsible for the environment in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 21 and 44 of the Environmental Protection Act, Chapter 328 of the Substantive Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2020, and all other powers thereunto him enabling. (Gazetted 13th February, 2023). 1. These Regulations may be cited as the ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2023 and shall be read and construed as one with the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 1995, which as amended, are hereinafter referred to as the principal Regulations. 2. The principal Regulations are amended in regulation 27A (a) insub-regulation (2) (c), by inserting immediately after the word “Sector”, the words “or in the event of a conflict of interest as determined by the Minister, an alternative representative of the Private Sector”; (b) by inserting immediately after sub-regulation (2), the following new sub-regulation “(3) The members of the Tribunal shall be independent and impartial and in the exercise of Citation. These regulations shall apply to any proceedings that have not yet been concluded as at the date of entry into force of these regulations, including any proceedings that have already commenced as at that date.
