These Regulations may be cited as the 2. In these Regulations immediately releasing the fish into the waters of Belize in the same state that the fish was landed; Fisheries; competition only, and not for the commercial purpose of selling, exporting or otherwise; regulation 3 of these Regulations. 3. (1) Every person desirous of engaging in sport fishing within Belizean waters shall apply in writing to the Minister or to a person or authority authorized in writing by the Minister, as the case may be, for a sport fishing license. 18 of 2009. 115 of 2009. Coastal Zone Management [CAP.329 7 THE SUBSIDIARY LAWS OF BELIZE REVISED EDITION 2020 Printed by Authority of the Government of Belize (2) No person shall engage in sport fishing in Belizean waters unless he is the holder of a valid sport fishing license in the form prescribed in Schedule I to these Regulations. (3) Upon payment of the fee prescribed in Schedule II to these Regulations, the Minister or a person or authority duly authorized by him pursuant to these Regulations, may issue a sport fishing license to fish within Belizean waters. (4) A license issues pursuant to the Regulation shall be valid for the period prescribed in the license and may be subject to such terms and conditions as described in the license. (5) A person engaged in sport fishing in Belizean waters shall make available for inspection, a valid sport fishing license upon request by any Fisheries Officer, and authorized agent or officer of the CZMA or a member of the Belize Coast Guard authorized by the Minister or by any other maritime agency of Belize authorized in that behalf. (6) A person shall not alter any sport fishing license. 4. The Minister may revoke a sport fishing license where (a) a licensee fails to comply with any terms and conditions of the license; (b) a licensee contravenes any of the provisions of these regulations; (c) the licensee is found to have contravened any provisions of the Fisheries Act or Regulations made thereunder. 5. The Minister may, in writing, delegate his power to issue sport fishing licenses by authorizing any person or authority to issue sport fishing licenses, subject to conditions as the Minister may require. The Minister may, in his discretion, waive the fees payable for the issue of sport fishing licenses under these Regulations. 7. A person or authority authorized pursuant to regulation 5 to issue sport fishing licenses, shall keep a record of sales of such licenses in such a manner as the Minister may require and such records shall be made available at all reasonable times for inspection by a Fisheries Officer, authorized agent of CZMA, or a member of the Belize Coast Guard authorized by the Minister or by any other maritime agency of Belize authorized in that behalf. 8. A person is deemed to be engaged in sport fishing if (a) he is on a boat or engaged or employed on a boat while in use or equipped for sport fishing in the waters of Belize; (b) he is engaged or equipped to fish any o the fish species as designated by the Fisheries Administrator for the purposes of sport fishing. 9. Every person who contravenes these Regulations commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of five hundred dollars or to imprisonment for a term of six months, or to both fine and imprisonment. 10. These regulations are subject to negative resolution of the National Assembly. 11. The Coastal Zone Management Authority (Sport Fishing) Regulations, 2009 (S.1 18 of 2009) are repealed. 12.
