Amendment of section 25 of principal Act An Act to Amend the Waterworks Act Date of Assent: 30.8.83 Date of Commencement: 9.9.BS ENACTED by the Parliament of Botswana l. This Act may be cited as the Waterworks (Amendment) Act, 1983. 2. Section 22 of the Waterworks Act (in this Act referred to as /'the principal Act") is hereby amended by substituting for the words "a fine of PIO" wherever they appear in the section the words "a fine of P250". 3. Section 25 of the principal Act is hereby amended by substituting for that section the following new section "'Water (I) Any person who uses any water supplied co him med mher by the Water Authority for purposes other than those 1han lor purpo« for which the water is supplied or for purposes in ,upplied" contravention of any prohibition specified under section 16 shall be guilty of an offence and liable (a) in the case of a first offence, wa fine of P250and in default of payment of such fine, to a term of imprisonment for 12 months; (b) in the case of second or subsequenl offence, to a fine of Pl000 and in default of payment of such fine, to a term of imprisonment for 2 years.
