No bilateral gold instrument found. The pair gets ordinary treatment (0% UAE duty). The UAE is Guinea's main gold destination: 59.0% of 2023 gold exports by Guinea's statistics institute. UAE-reported imports from Guinea (135.9 t in 2023) are more than double Guinea's total declared gold exports. BCRG gold sent to Dubai for refining in 2024 was reported diverted to private accounts.

Where practice departs from the law
What credible sources show happening that the law does not provide for.
In late 2024, several tonnes of central-bank (BCRG) gold sent to Dubai for refining were reported never to have reached BCRG accounts, allegedly diverted to private accounts in Dubai of companies linked to the promoter of the Nimba Gold refinery. A UAE refinery is named in the account. No formal Guinea-UAE arrangement is described.
SecondaryNot recordedResearcher's note: Single-source, opinion-style account; tonnage not given.
In 2023 the UAE recorded 135.9 t of imports from Guinea, while Guinea's INS recorded 57.9 t of total gold exports, of which 59% (by value) went to the UAE. EITI figures for the same year give 78.4 t of exports (gn.tf-2023). Even on the higher figure, the UAE figure exceeds everything Guinea declared, which points to gold from neighbouring countries (Mali and others) transiting under Guinean origin, or to undeclared Guinean exports. Guinea filed no HS 710812 data with UN Comtrade for 2022-2023.
Figures: UAE 135.9 t vs Guinea total 57.9 t (2023)
SecondaryResearcher's note: [conflict] gn.div-export-statistics: Guinea's own 2023 export volume is 57.9 t (INS text), 14,345 (INS table) or 78.4 t (BSD/ITIE).
