This Act may be cited as the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) (Amendment) Act, 1996, and shall be read as one with the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act, 1985, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shal1 be deemed to have come into operation6n the 27th January, 1996. 2. The principal Act is amended in sub-section (2) of section forty-two by- (a) the deletion after paragraph (b) of the semi-colon and the word II and II and the substitution therefor of a ful1-stop; and (b) the deletion of paragraph (c)
