[7TH MAY 1942] 1. This Act may be cited as the Limes Export Levy Act. 2. The Minister may by Order impose a levy upon limes and lime products exported from Trinidad and Tobago at such rate or rates as he may consider expedient. 3. The provisions of the Customs Act shall have effect as though any levy imposed by virtue of this Act was an export duty leviable by virtue of section 6 of that Act. 4. The Comptroller of Customs and Excise shall deposit all proceeds of any levy imposed by virtue of this Act at the Treasury where they shall be credited by the Comptroller of Accounts to a special account and the Comptroller of Accounts shall pay therefrom such sums as the Minister may from time to time direct towards the expenses of the West Indian Limes Association (Incorporated). 1950 Ed. This Order may be cited as the Limes Export Levy (Fixing of Rates) Order. 2. In this Order— “clear, clarified, filtered, racked or settled juice” means the juice of the lime exclusive of the oil thereof; “pipe” of citrate of lime means 6 hundredweights; “pipe” of concentrated juice means 108 Imperial gallons; “top pulp juice” means the entire juice of the lime including the oil thereof. 3. A levy at the rates set out in the second column of the Schedule is hereby imposed upon the limes and the lime products exported from Trinidad and Tobago which are respectively set out opposite the said rates in the first column of the said Schedule.
