Page 1 National legislation - DOALOS/OLA - United Nations asdf Decree by the Council of Ministers No. 8/4742 In exercise of the authority provided by law No. 2674, dated 20 May 1982, and upon the communication MIGM-MIGM-III-L365-9L7 dated 26 May 1982 received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is hereby decided that, in view of the characteristics of the seas surrounding Turkey and the principle of equity, the situation prevailing in the Black Sea and in the Mediterranean before the entry into force of the aforementioned law with regard to the breadth of the territorial sea will be maintained.
