Land (Amendment) Act 1999 Section 1 No. 8 of 1999 to Page 1 C T LAND (AMENDMENT) ACT 1999 No. 8 of 1999 AN ACT TO AMEND THE LAND ACT I assent, TAUFA'AHAU TUPOU IV, 1st July, 1999. [1st July, 1999] BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of the Kingdom as follows: 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Land (Amendment) Act 1999. (2) The Land Act (Cap. 132), as amended, is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. 2. Section 19 of the Principal Act is amended in subsections (3) and (7) by inserting the following after the word “leases”: “(1) (including sub-leases)”. 3. Section 109 (2) of the Principal Act is amended by inserting a comma at the end thereof and adding the following: “or he may sell the lease or sub-lease if the mortgaged land is a leasehold”. 4. Form No. 3 in Schedule LX of the Principal Act is amended by deleting paragraph (c) therefrom.
