Customs Management (Importation of Goods through Post or Courier) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024 (S.I. 40 of 2024)

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Customs Management (Importation of Goods through Post or Courier) (Amendment) Regulations, 2024. Amendment of regulation 3

2. The Customs Management (Importation of Goods through Post or Courier) Regulations, 2019 (S.I.82 of 2019) (hereinafter referred to as the “principal Regulations”) is amended in regulation 3 by inserting after subregulation (2) the following subregulations — “(3) Subject to subregulation (4), a consignment of goods imported into Seychelles through post or courier, the value of which is SCR1500 or less shall be exempted from customs declaration through a bill of entry and payment of customs duty. (4) The exemption under subregulation (3) shall be applicable to consignment of goods imported for commercial use.”. Insertion of regulation 5

The principal Regulations is amended by inserting after regulation 4 the following regulation — [13th May 2024] Customs Management Act 118 REPUBLIC OF SEYCHELLES SUPPLEMENT TO OFFICIAL GAZETTE SI “5. Subject to Customs Management (Prohibited and Restricted Goods) Regulations, 2023 (S.I. 87 of 2023), a person importing through post or courier any goods specified under column (2) of the Second Schedule of that Regulations shall, prior to the import of such goods into Seychelles, obtain approval in writing from the Authority specified in the corresponding entry under column (1) of that Schedule of the Regulations.”.
