Sindh Epidemic Disease Act, 2014

1. ( 1) This Act may be called the Sindh Epidemic o·iseases Short title, • Act, 2014. , ex,tent and 0 commencement. (2 )..lt shall extend to the whole of the Province of Sindh. (3) It shall come into force at once.

2. In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the Definition. subject or context - L(iv)-12 e! Ext -IV-8 ( J::· ) Price Rs. 10.00 THE SINDH GOVT. GAZETTE EXT. JAN. 9, 2015 PART-IV (a ) "disease" means the dangerous epidemic diseases; (b) "Government" means the Government of Sindh.

3. ( 1) When at any time Government i s satisfied that the Power to take Province or any part thNeof is visited by, or threatened with an special -measu re s outbreak of any d isease, Government, if it thinks that the ordinary and prescribe provisions of the law for t he t ime bE:ing in force are insufficient for regulations as to the purpose, may take or require or empower any person to take, dangerous epide mic such measures and, by public notice, prescribe such temporary disease. • regulations to be observed by the _public or by any perso,1 or class of persons as it shall deem necessary to prevent t he outbreak· of ·such disease or the spread t hereof, and may determine in what manner and by whom a ny expenses incurred (including compensation, if any) shall be defray ed. (2) In particu lar and without prejud ice to the generality of the foregoing provisio•ns, Government may take measures and prescribe regulations for t he inspection of persons t raveling by railway Or otherwise, and the seg,egat ion, in hospital, temporary accommodation or otherwise, of persons suspected by t he inspecting officer of being infect ed with any such disease. /. . . • • (3) Government m ay , by general or special order, empo:,,ver a Deputy Commissioner t o exercise in relat ion to the d istrict , all the powers under this sec_tion exercisable by Government in rela t ion to the Province, other . th.an the power to determine in what manner ar-id by whom any expenses incurred (including compensation, if any) shall be defrayed . • ( 4) The exercise of powe rs delegated by Govern ment shall be subject to such restri ct ions, limitations and· c.ond iti ons, if any, as may be speci fi ed by -Government and t o t he contro l of, and t o revision by Govern m ent. ,.

4. Any person disobeyi ng any regu lation or order made u nder Penalty. this Act shall _be deem ed to hav e comm itted an offence pu nisha b le under section 188 of t he Pakist_an Penal Code.
