(632) 711-95-02, 711-95-03; Telefax No. (632) 743-18-29 28 December 2007 ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER No. 1003- 0044: SUBJECT: Amendment to Section VIII. 3 of Administrative Order No. 18-A s. 1993 dated January 23, 1993 entitled "Standards of Quality ; Requirements for the Processing, Packaging, and Labelling of Bottled Drinking Water I. RATIONALE II. Ill. Section VIII. 3 of Administrative Order No. 18-A s. 1993 calls for the use of packaging materials of bottled drinking water, to wit: "Bottles and caps shall be manufactured from virgin materials (i.e. materials which have not been recycled)." Such requirement has become an impediment for the entry of safe packaging materials produced using acceptable re-cycling processes. With the emergence and existence of such acceptable re-cycling technologies amendment to the above requirement becomes imperative. ., OBJECTIVES 1 This Order is hereby issued to: 1) Amend the specific provision of AO No. 18-A s. 1993 · 2) Guide all concerned Parties AMENDMENT Section VIII. 3 of Administrative Order No. 18-A s. 1993 is hereby amended to be read as follows: "Bottles and caps shall be manufactured preferably from virgin materials (i.e. materials which have not been recycled). Further, post market surveillance reports ensuring safety shall be submitted by such firms to the BFAD. IV. REPEALING CLAUSE . . Provisions ·of previous issuances which are contrary to those reflected hereon are modified, and /or repealed accordingly. . ' V.
