Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Order 1989 (SR 1989/237) Note This order is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. PURSUANT to section 24 of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Minister of Overseas Trade and Marketing made in compliance with section 25 of that Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order. Contents 1 Title and Commencement 2 Interpretation 3 Avocados declared to be a prescribed product 4 Avocados to be subject to export licensing 5 Recognised product group 1 Title and Commencement  (1) This order may be cited as the Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Order 1989. (2) This order shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. 2 Interpretation  In this order,— The Act means the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987 Avocados means the product specified in clause 3 of this order. 3 Avocados declared to be a prescribed product  The following product is hereby declared to be a prescribed product for the purposes of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987:  Avocado, fruit of Persea americana. Regulation 5 was amended, as from 30 October 1997, by clause 2 Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Amendment Order 1997 (SR 1997/271) by substituting the words “body that, immediately before the commencement of the Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Amendment Order 1997, was known as the Avocado Industry” for the words “Avocado Export”.
