This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regula tions 1999 (the regulations). It comes into force on 13 September 2017 and revokes itself on 12 September 2018. The notice relates to Ōkārito Lagoon Mātaitai Reserve, which is on the west coast of the South Island. The tangata whenua of the area that includes the mātaitai reserve are represented by Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio. Notice is given of the reappointment of 5 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai re serve. The Minister for Primary Industries made the reappointments at the request of Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio.
