Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mātaitai Reserves at Kaihoka Point and Anatori) Notice 2017 Pursuant to regulation 23 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regula tions 1999, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice. (2) The cancellation took effect at the end of 5 April 2014. 6 New appointment (1) The Minister of Fisheries has appointed Rima Piggott as a Tangata Tiaki/ Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserves. (2) The appointment— (a) took effect on 6 April 2014; and (b) expires at the end of 5 April 2019. Dated at Wellington this 15th day of December 2017. This notice is made under regulation 23 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 (the regulations). The notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette and revokes itself at the end of 5 April 2019. This notice relates to the mātaitai reserves at Kaihoka Point and Anatori, which are on the upper West Coast of the South Island. The tangata whenua of the area that in cludes the mātaitai reserves are represented by Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua. Notice is given of— • the cancellation of the appointment of a Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserves; and • the replacement appointment of a Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai re serves. The Minister of Fisheries cancelled the appointment and made the replacement ap pointment at the request of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Rārua.
