Explanatory note This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect. This notice is made under the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 (the regulations). The notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua who are Ngā Hapū o Taiamai ki Te Marangi on behalf of Tauwhara Marae. The area/rohe moana is in the Bay of Islands and extends from Takou Bay to the Hau mi River mouth. Notice is given of the cancellation of the appointment of a Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries cancelled the appointment at the re quest of Tauwhara Marae.
