Food (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2000

WARTA KERAJAAN 17 August, 2000 P.U.(A) 303 FOOD ACT 1983 FOOD (AMENDMENT) (No.2) REGULATIONS 2000 IN exercise of the powers conferred by Section 34 of the Food Act 1983 [Act 281], the Minister makes the following regulations : Citation 1. These regulations may be cited as the Food (Amendment) Regulations 2000. Amendment of regulation 43 2. The Food Regulations 1985 [P.U.(A) 437/85], which is these Regulations are referred to as "the principal Regulations," are amended in the national language text in subregulation 43 (2) by substituting for the words "90mg/kg" the word", azodicarbonamide not exceeding 45mg/kg and calcium peroxide not exceeding 100mg/kg as permitted food conditioners.". Amendment of regulation 389 3. Regulation 389 of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting after subregulation (3) the following subregulation : "(3A) Infant formula may contain optional ingredient as specified in column (1) of Table 1A to the Twenty-first Schedule in amount of not more than the maximum permitted proportions as specified against it to column (2) of the Table. (3B) The total concentration of nucleotides in any infant formula shall not exceed 5 mg per 100 kcal.". Amendment of Eleventh Schedule 4. The Eleventh Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended in column (2) of Table II by substituting for the word "potassium bromate" which appear against the item "Wheat flour and protein increased wheat flour for bread" in column (1), the words "azodicarbonamide, calcium peroxide". Amendment of Twenty-first Schedule 5.
