LEGAL SUPPLEMENT to the Government Gazette of Mauritius No. 111 of 20 November 2004 Food (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2004 GN No. 184 of 2004 THE FOOD ACT Regulations made by the Minister under Section 18 of the Food Act 1. These regulations may be cited as the Food (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2004. 2. In these Regulations "principal regulations" means the Food Regulations 1999. 3. The principal regulations are amended in regulation 3 (a) by numbering the existing provision as paragraph (1); (b) in paragraph (1) as numbered, by deleting the words "No person" and replacing them by the words "Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), no person"; (c) in paragraph (1), as numbered, by deleting subparagraph (j) and replacing it by the following subparagraph (j) the expiry date, and either the date of manufacture the lot identification, which shall be printed on the label or embossed on the container; (d) by adding after paragraph (1) as numbered, the following new paragraphs (2) The particulars referred to in paragraph (1) may be shown in any official language of any country provided that, in such a case, an additional label bearing a translation of the particulars in either English or French is affixed on the package under the supervision of an authorized officer. (3) No additional label referred to in paragraph (2) shall be valid unless the Permanent Secretary is satisfied that the translation has been done by such person as he considers as having the necessary competence to do so. 4. These regulations shall be deemed to have come into force on 18 October, 2004. Made by the Minister on 10th of November, 2004.
