(1) The title of these regulations is the Territorial Waters Regulations, 2015. (2) These regulations apply to the internal waters and territorial waters of Malta. (3) The purpose of these regulations is to regulate activities in the internal waters and territorial waters of Malta. Interpretation. 2. (1) Unless otherwise defined in these regulations, words and expressions used herein shall have the same meaning assigned to them as in the Act. (2) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires: Cap. 226. "the Act" means the Territorial Waters and Contiguous Zone Act; "internal waters" means the waters on the landward side of the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial waters are measured; "territorial waters" has the same meaning assigned to it by article 3 of the Act. Applicability. 3. In pursuance of the provisions of regulation 11 of the Continental Shelf Regulations, the provisions of regulations 3 to 10 of the said Regulations shall also apply in the internal waters and territorial waters of Malta.
