B 503B 503 L.N. 60 of 2015 ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING ACT (CAP. 504) Protection of Wild Rabbit (Amendment) Regulations, 2015 BY VIRTUE of the powers conferred by articles 61 and 62 of the Environment and Development Planning Act, the Minister for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change has made the following regulations: Citation. S.L. 504.06 1. The title of these regulations is the Protection of Wild Rabbit (Amendment) Regulations, 2015, and these regulations shall be read and construed as one with the Protection of Wild Rabbit Regulations, hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations". Amends regulation 5 of the principal regulations. 2. Regulation 5 of the principal regulations shall be amended as follows: (a) sub-regulation (1) thereof shall be substituted by the following: "(1) The licence for shooting and, or the licence for the capture of wild rabbit may be granted by the Commissioner and the Wild Birds Regulation Unit if an applicant satisfies the criteria set by both the Commissioner and the Wild Birds Regulation Unit."; (b) in sub-regulation (4) thereof, for the words "the value of which shall be published by the Minister in the Gazette." there shall be substituted the words "as prescribed in Schedule IV."; and (c) sub-regulation (6) thereof shall be amended as follows: (i) in paragraph (a) thereof, for the words "required by these regulations" there shall be substituted the words "required by Schedule IV"; and (ii) in paragraph (d) thereof, for the words "for the previous year to the Wild Birds Regulation Unit" there shall be substituted the words "for the previous year, and paid the respective renewal fee for the applicable licence as found Schedule IV, to the Wild Birds Regulation Unit". Immediately after Schedule III to the principal regulations, there shall be added the following new Schedule: "SCHEDULE IV Applicable Fees 1. Examination fee: €30 per examination. 2. Re-Sit of examination fee: €10 for each re-sit session. 3. Licence to shoot, and or to capture wild rabbit: (a) issuance of new licence in accordance with regulation 5(6)(a): €20 per licence issued; (b) renewal of licence in accordance with regulation 5(6)(c): €20 per licence renewed, provided that this fee shall not apply where the licensee is also in possession of a licence to hunt birds on land and / or at sea issued under Conservation of Wild Birds Regulations (S.L. 504.71) and has paid the relevant renewal fees for such licences and was issued with the relevant carnet de chasse booklet.".
