IRRIGATION OF CROPS (HEALTH PRECAUTIONS) [S.L.36.30 1 SUBSIDIARY LEGISLATION 36.30 IRRIGATION OF CROPS (HEALTH PRECAUTIONS) REGULATIONS 16th September, 1988 LEGAL NOTICE 71 of 1988. Title.1. The title of these Regulations is Irrigation of Crops (Health Precautions) Regulations. Prohibition of irrigation with sewage. 2. No person may irrigate any field, where crops intended for human consumption are, or may be, cultivated, with any sewage or sewage contaminated water. Seizure and destruction. 3. It shall be lawful for the Superintendent of Public Health to order the seizure and/or destruction of crops which have been irrigated with sewage or sewage contaminated water. Saving.4. The provisions of regulations 2 and 3 of these Regulations shall not apply to any field irrigated with effluent from sewage which has been treated and purified at a government-run sewage treatment plant in respect of such crops which the Superintendent of Public Health has approved could be cultivated in such field.
