These regulations may be cited as the "Regulation offishing activities in the sea adjacent to the coast of Administrative District of Colombo and Gampaha Regulations. 1986.' ' 2. ' Any person who is not permanently resident in the area specified in the First Schedule hereto shall not engage by ~If ?r by obtaining services, for a fee or otherwise, of any person r~si~ent m the area specified in the First Schedule hereto in trawling within that portion of the sea specified in the Second Schedule hereto. 3. Any person who is permanently resident in the area s~ified in the First Schedule hereto shall not obtain, for a fee or otherwis~, the services of any person boat or trawl net from outside the area s~cified ' wil' within that in the First Schedule hereto for the purpose of tra mg Part of the sea specified in the Second Schedule hereto. 4. No person shall operate a purse-seine net with or without light attraction within that part of the sea more.fully described in the First Schedule hereto. 3. Every application for an additional permit shall be made to the Secret2ry in Form C set out in the Second Schedule hereto, specifying the additional area within'w hich the puse-seine net is to be operated. 9. A fee of Rs. 5,000 shall be charged for each additional permit issued within the same calendar year. 10. The additional permit be in Form D set out in the Second ScheduJe hereto, and shall specify the additional area, within which the purse-seine net is to be operated 11. No person shall operate a purse-seine net exceeding in length 225 metres. 12. No person shall use surface lamps the total wattage of which exceeds I 500 waits for the purpose of attracting fish. 13. No person shall use a purse-seine net the mesh size of which is Jess than 3/8 inches. 14. Regulations 1 I and 12 shall not apply in respect of any purse-seine net used for Tuna and Tuna-like fisheries. I 5.
